Authentication & Warranties

Authentication

We supply our authentication card (previously certificates) with every watch we sell. With this, we 100% guarantee the authenticity and originality of the watch.

We stand behind every watch we sell and cover multiple point checks to ensure everything is genuine and authentic.

Our authenticity check consists of inspecting each individual part for its fit, finish, function and originality.

List of parts inspected (where applicable):

  • Dial
  • Hands
  • Crystal
  • Case
  • Crown
  • Rehaut / inner bezel
  • Bezel
  • Bezel insert
  • Bracelet / strap
  • Clasp
  • Caseback
  • Movement
  • Timekeeping
  • Serial number
  • Reference Number

Additional items:

  • Box - inner and outer
  • Warranty card / papers
  • Booklets
  • Wallets
  • Swing tags
  • Service documents
  • Purchase receipt
  • Watch register check

We will clearly state if something is to not be original on a watch. For example if a bezel insert or crown is genuine but isn't original to the watch (replaced at a service for example) we will state as such. If we provide a generic box, aftermarket strap etc we will state as such.

These terms in writing confirm that we, Winding Dial LTD, guarantee the watch we have sold at the time of sale is 100% authentic and genuine. We strongly advise that if you feel uncertain about this to have it's authenticity checked by the manufacturer and/or an authorised dealer or jeweller of your choosing.

Warranty

We absolutely stand behind every watch we sell and happily provide a 12-month limited warranty with all watch purchases up to 50 years old that are outside of their manufacturers warranty. For example, if we sell a 2022 pre-owned Rolex, the remainder of its 5 year warranty from new still remains so we do not need to add our own on top. Additionally, if we have had a watch recently serviced this will in most cases come with a 24-month service warranty on mechanical parts with us, this will always be stated in the description if it applies.

Unfortunately, due to the nature and age of vintage watches, this warranty does not cover watches over 50 years old.

That being said we are an independent family run business and are very passionate about watches and what we do, the last thing we want is for you to buy a watch from us and feel down the line you have not been looked after. Customer service is our number one priority and we will always do our best to help, whether its 5 days after purchase or 5 years.

12 Month Limited Warranty - Terms and Conditions

This warranty is solely to cover the functioning parts of the watch to ensure it's in full working order. Any physical and/or accidental damage will not be accepted under warranty. Watches that are not deemed water proof or resistant at the point of sale that then have water damage will not be covered under the warranty. Watches under warranty naturally will need to be fully inspected by a qualified watchmaker before we can confirm whether any issues can be resolved with no cost to yourself. Regardless of what issues arise, we can and will always help get it sorted for you, it's just a matter of whether it's deemed normaly mechanical failures of a watch.

Regardless of the above we will never leave you out to dry, once our customer, always our customer and the service doesn't stop once you walk out the door. We will always do our best to make sure your watch is in full working order and operating just as it should, keeping good time and is able to be enjoyed!

If you have any questions on the above please contact us.
